CR34615 Parking Bollard

CUSTOMER CASE STUDY

CR34615 2S2P Battery Pack for an Australian Parking Bollard Project

An inquiry for a customized IP67 battery holder led to a different opportunity: supplying a CR34615 2S2P battery pack. After sample testing, the Australian customer placed a first small-batch order.

Custom CR34615 2S2P Battery Pack for Parking Bollards
AT A GLANCE

What battery solution did the customer actually need?

The customer first asked PKCELL for a customized IP67 battery holder. We could not supply a holder that matched the requested dimensions and design. Further discussions revealed a separate requirement that we could support: a customized CR34615 2S2P primary lithium battery pack for the parking bollard. Samples were ordered in June 2026, passed testing in July, and led to the first small-batch purchase.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

From a Battery Holder Inquiry to a Battery Pack Project

An Australian customer contacted PKCELL through Alibaba while sourcing components for a parking bollard application. The original request was specific: an IP67-rated battery holder with customized dimensions and construction.

After reviewing the dimensions and specifications, our team found that no available holder matched the customer's design. Rather than ending the discussion with an unavailable product, the sales and technical teams asked more about the device and its battery needs.

That conversation uncovered the opportunity to supply a custom battery pack even though the requested holder was not available. The project shifted from finding a holder to evaluating a pack configuration that could work with the customer's equipment.

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE

Three Questions Behind the Original Request

01

Could the original holder be supplied?

Not to the customer's specifications. The requested IP67 battery holder required a design and dimensions that PKCELL could not match.

02

What did the device need?

Further communication clarified that the parking bollard also required a customized battery pack, creating a more relevant supply opportunity.

03

Would the proposed pack work?

The customer needed to check compatibility and performance in the parking bollard before proceeding with an order.

PKCELL SOLUTION

Proposing a Custom CR34615 2S2P Battery Pack

Based on the technical requirements discussed with the customer, PKCELL provided a quotation and battery information for evaluation. The proposed solution used a CR34615 2S2P battery configuration rather than the initially requested battery holder.

The CR34615 is a non-rechargeable lithium manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) cell. A 2S2P configuration uses four cells arranged as two in series and two in parallel. The precise electrical and mechanical specifications of the finished pack must be confirmed against the customer's approved design.

Project Requirement PKCELL Response
Original IP67 battery holder Explained that no matching customized holder was available.
Parking bollard battery needs Continued application-focused communication to identify a pack requirement.
Customized primary battery solution Proposed a CR34615 2S2P battery pack and supplied technical information and pricing.
Compatibility and performance review Supported a sample-first process before the customer's initial small-batch order.

For reference, the PKCELL CR34615 individual cell is listed with a nominal 3V rating and 12,000mAh capacity under specified test conditions. These are single-cell specifications; they should not be presented as the verified rating of this customer's assembled battery pack.

Important distinction: IP67 was a requirement for the customer's initially requested battery holder. The project record does not establish an IP67 rating for the final CR34615 pack or enclosure.

PROJECT JOURNEY

How the Project Progressed in 2026

  1. Initial inquiry

    IP67 Holder Request

The Australian customer reached out through Alibaba. The requested holder was unavailable, but further discussion identified the battery pack requirement.

  2. June 2026

    Samples Ordered

After receiving the quotation and technical information, the customer confirmed a sample order for device evaluation.

  3. July 2026

    Samples Passed Testing

The customer reported successful sample testing and placed the first small-batch battery pack order.

  4. October 2026 - planned

    Further Technical Discussion

At the time of the project update, the customer planned to meet PKCELL at the Canton Fair to discuss pack parameters and the possibility of a larger-volume order.

PROJECT RESULT

Samples Approved, First Small-Batch Order Placed

The important milestone was practical: the customer moved from an inquiry for a product PKCELL could not supply to a battery pack solution they were able to test and purchase.

By July 2026, the samples had passed the customer's evaluation and the initial small-batch order was placed. A higher-volume order remained a subject for future discussion, not a completed purchase.

KEY TAKEAWAY

The Best Starting Point Is the Device Requirement

In a custom battery project, the first component a customer asks for may not fully describe what the device needs. This parking bollard project advanced because the conversation continued beyond the unavailable holder and focused on a battery solution the customer could verify.

PKCELL supports custom primary lithium battery packs for industrial devices, with project-specific consideration of electrical requirements, pack dimensions, operating conditions and connection details.
