Background / Challenge

The customer's requirements for a primary lithium battery solution were stringent: 

  • Longevity: A service life of 15 years or more was required to minimize maintenance costs.
  • Extreme Temperature Tolerance: The battery needed a wide operating range, specifically from -55°C to +85°C. 
  • Performance: Must provide a stable 3.6 voltage output , have a compact size, and maintain a low self-discharge rate.

Solution

PKCELL recommended a suite of Lithium Thionyl Chloride batteries to meet the diverse power needs of the customer's parking sensor system. These primary lithium cells are known for their high energy density, wide temperature range, and stable voltage. PKCELL's recommended models included:
