Background / Challenge

The customer is a Swiss company specializing in metering devices, requiring long-life, high-reliability battery solutions suitable for harsh and long-term operating environments.

After receiving the customer’s inquiry, several key challenges were identified:

Lead time and logistics reliability were critical, due to the difficulty of exporting lithium batteries from China and transporting them to Europe.
During the production stage, the customer requested an additional supercapacitor to be integrated into the battery pack to handle pulse current demands.
At that point, the original battery pack was already close to completion, making design changes extremely challenging without impacting delivery.

The project required both technical flexibility and strong delivery execution under tight timelines.

Solution

PKCELL provided a ER34615 + HPC1550 (1S3P), 3.6V, 57Ah Li-SOCl₂ battery pack, supported by a comprehensive service and engineering response.

In parallel, our engineering team rapidly developed a new battery pack design incorporating the supercapacitor. Within one week, we completed 3–5 prototype samples, and the supercapacitors were produced and shipped together with the original order—ensuring the customer could solve their issue without delay.
